Killarney Mountain Lodge is located in the village of Killarney, Ontario, Canada, just a few yards from the main street, stores, shops and docks. Killarney is on the north shore of Georgian Bay, which is part of Lake Huron (one of the Great Lakes).

Getting to Killarney

By Car

From Toronto, take Hwy 400 North to Hwy 69 then take 637 West to Killarney. It is a 4.5 to 5 hour ride. From Sault Ste. Marie via Hwy 17, 69 South, and 637 West. It is a 6 to 6.5 hour ride. From Ottawa via Hwy 17 to Sudbury, then travel south on Hwy 69 to the turnoff at Hwy 637. Turn right on Hwy 637 and travel to Killarney.It is a 8.5 hour ride. The Highway 400 from Toronto has been "four laned" all the way to Parry Sound. The highway from Parry Sound to Hwy 637 is only two lanes. The Killarney highway (#637) is a hard surface, two lane road 66 km through the forest. Deer, moose and bears are often seen crossing the highway, especially at dusk or in the early morning.

By Private Aircraft

Area map Killarney's 3500' asphalt runway is oriented on a heading of 240 degrees - 060 degrees magnetic. It is licensed by the Canadian Federal Ministry of Transport and is listed in the Canadian VFR Supplement and depicted on the Canadian Sault Ste. Marie Visual Navigation Chart.

Pilots can pinpoint the Killarney Airport 49 nautical miles from the Sudbury VOR on the 225 degree radial. There is a windsock adjacent to the runway and a parking area with tie-downs.

During the period May to October, Killarney Mountain Lodge operates an air/ground radio on the standard UNICOM frequency 122.8 MHz and provides free pick-up for guests of Killarney Mountain Lodge, Killarney Outfitters and the Sportsman's Inn. Call us about 5 to 10 miles inbound and our vehicle will usually beat you to the airport.
